Setting up "Enable community" in your server gets you access to some powerful tools to help you run, moderate, and grow your server.

Setup Guide:

  1. Open up "Server Settings" in the menu, and click "Enable Community":

  1. Requirements for setting up a community server:

  • To minimize spam, members of the server must have a verified email before they can send messages. This does not apply to members with roles.

  • Discord will automatically scan and delete media sent in the server that contain explicit content (excludes age-restricted channels).

Select both, and click "Next".

  1. Set "#rules" channel as the Rules channel and "#community-mgmt" channel as the community updates channel, then click "Next".

  1. Click "I agree and understand", the click "Finish Setup":

  1. In "Community Settings":

  • Set "#community-mgmt" channel as the Safety Notifications Channel

  • Draft a "Server Description" to describe your community/server, which will be displayed in external embeds of your server's invite link.

  • Click "Save Changes"

  1. You're all done!
