Twitter Giveaways

Twitter Giveaways can be a useful way to obtain more followers and visibility for your project.

Typically, the giveaway Tweet will include the following information:

  • Announcing that this is a giveaway Tweet and what the occasion is

  • What the prize(s) is, who is sponsoring the prize, and what the sponsor does

  • Qualification Criteria

  • Time period

Typical Qualification Criteria:

  • Follow your Twitter account

  • Retweet the Tweet

  • Like the Tweet

  • Comment on the Tweet with something

  • Tag a number of friends in the comments section

Tips:

  • Having more than 1 prize in a giveaway would generate more excitement.

  • Specify a time limit for the giveaway, ideally 48-72 hours to allow enough time for the Tweet to gain traction. The more people that Retweet and tag friends, the more visibility the Tweet will have. Always remember to determine a winner at the end of the giveaway period, and announce the winner to establish your team's efficiency and integrity.

  • Always include picture of the NFT prize(s) in the giveaway Tweet to generate excitement and get better visibility of the Tweet.

  • Add hashtags such as #giveaway and #NFT to get more visibility, but limit to maximum of 2 hashtags.

  • Avoid asking users to click on a link - external links will hurt the visibility of the Tweet, and may look suspicious to users.

  • Avoid asking users to reply with their wallet address. Instead, directly message the winners after they have been chosen, and ask for their wallet address in private to send them the prize.

Do note that a significant risk of organizing giveaways is that your Twitter account gets followed by many bots, which could hurt your engagement and brand.
